PM Netanyahu’s Greeting for Yom Ha’Atzmaut, Israel’s Independence Day

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8uSYAwVLNN4

Transcript of PM Benjamin Netanyahu’s greeting for Israel’s 63rd Independence Day:

Today Israel celebrates 63 years of independence.

We celebrate the rebirth of Jewish sovereignty, the restoration of our capacity for self-defense and the absorption of millions of Jewish immigrants from across the world into the state of Israel.

We celebrate Israel’s thriving economy, our dynamic culture and our remarkable achievements in science, medicine, technology, agriculture, in the arts, countless other areas and we also celebrate Israel’s democracy, because in the vast swathe of land between the Khyber Pass and the Straits of Gibraltar, between Pakistan and the Atlantic, Israel is the one place that protects the rights that many in the democratic world take for granted, the right to think and worship as one pleases, the right of women and minorities to be equal members of society and the right of citizens to be ruled by laws and not by men.

In Israel all our citizens, Jews and Arabs alike, are equal under the law and as we celebrate Yom Ha’Atzmaut we give thanks for 63 years of freedom and independence in we renew our hopes for a future of security, properity and peace.

Chag Atzmaut Sameach — Happy Independence Day…to all of you.

Quotes and Sayings

About the Region, Islam and cultural totalitarianism...

The resources of the country [Western Palestine] are still virgin soil and will be developed by the Jewish immigrants. One of the most amazing things until recent times was that the Palestinian used to leave his country, wandering over the high seas in every direction. His native soil could not retain a hold on him, though his ancestors had lived on it for 1,000 years. At the same time we have seen the Jews from foreign countries streaming to Palestine from Russia, Germany, Austria, Spain, America. The cause of causes could not escape those who had the gift of a deeper insight. They knew that the country was for its original sons [abna’ihi-l-asliyin], for all their differences, a sacred and beloved homeland. The return of these exiles [jaliya] to their homeland will prove materially and spiritually an experimental school for their brethren who are with them in the fields, factories, trades, and in all things connected with toil and labour.
